Let’s go back to 2023. Campagnolo just dropped its new wireless drivetrain, called Super Record Wireless. It’s positioned as its price-is-no-object drivetrain, with an eye-watering price point to match (more on that later). Now comes Campagnolo Super Record S Wireless, which Campagnolo wants to take that groupset and make it more accessible.
What is in accessibility? No, this isn’t going to be priced like a Shimano 105 groupset (spoiler: it’s still quite expensive). Rather, accessibility refers to wide-range gearing. That means more cassette and chainring options as well as a choice of power meter cranks. The jury is out on whether that accessibility includes the new matte finish found here.
Campagnolo doesn’t do things quite like the SRAMs and Shimanos of this world, much less the upstarts like L-Twoo or Wheeltop we found at Taipei Cycle Show. But it does make for a drivetrain that feels like a differentiated offer.
What’s new with Super Record S?

This groupset would’ve been called Campagnolo Record in another universe, right? Campagnolo traditionally positioned Record as the more accessible version of its high-end drivetrain for racing. That continues here, but with the name Super Record S. Here’s what that ‘S’ comes with.
The new Super Record S Wireless groupset “has been designed to meet the needs of cyclists of all levels,” says Campagnolo. What does that mean? There’s all kinds of new gearing.
Super Record launched with 45 x 29t, 48 x 32t, and 50 x 34t chainring options. New for Super Record S Wireless are new 52 x 36t, 53 x 39t, and 54 x 39t chainring options.

Cassette options follow suit, with the big news being the addition of a new 11-32T cassette to join the 10-27t and 10-29t options. That means riders can have as low as a 29t chainring with a 32T cog, which makes for one of the lowest climbing gears of any 2x drivetrain in the industry. And should you want to, riders can grab the big 54 x 39t chainring with a 10-29T cassette should all the road riders in Miami want a gear for flatland riding.
The new Super Record S Wireless groupset also gets a matte black finish in comparison to the gloss clearcoat over carbon that Super Record Wireless received. It is quite the looker, at least in these photos.
Materials aren’t quite as ‘exotic’ as they would be in Super Record Wireless. Campagnolo particularly sites the crankset, which receives a non-hollow full carbon crankset. While the Italian firm doesn’t offer complete groupset weights, they do say that the new crankset weighs 150 grams more than Super Record’s groupset.
What has stayed the same?

If you liked the basic controls of Campagnolo Super Record Wireless, you’re going to like this. The brake/shift lever shape is the same as before, with two buttons behind the lever blades to control upshifts and downshifts of each derailleur. The braking performance should be roughly the same too, with a refinished brake caliper and the same basic braking system.
Nearly all the tech found with Super Record Wireless carries over to Super Record S Wireless. That includes the Hirth join crank axle (called their Ultra Torque system). Campagnolo has also added its Pro-Tech bottom bracket tech to this groupset, which effectively adds sealing around the bottom bracket bearings.
The battery tech carries over and is interchangeable. That means the batteries still charge from zero to 20 percent in 10 minutes, and zero to 90 percent in 45 minutes. While the batteries aren’t swappable front to rear, they can be charged both on and off the bike with a magnetized charge plug.

Chain compatibility carries over too, allowing users to use the same Campagnolo 12-speed chains as before… just like Super Record Wireless.
And as with Campagnolo’s other wireless groupset, there is no 1x gearing option. 2x is the only way here. There is, however, the option to spec Campagnolo’s power meter crank option.
Truth be told, we’re waiting on a number of answers from Campagnolo. Will Super Record Wireless users be able to use the new 11-32t cassette without swapping the derailleur? Are chainrings swappable between groups? How much heavier is Super Record S Wireless? There is quite a bit we don’t know here, but we will update as we find out more.
There’s also a matching Bora Ultra and Bora WTO wheelset

Alongside Super Record S, Campagnolo will offer a matte black version of its Bora Ultra WTO and Bora WTO wheels. The Bora Ultra WTO wheels have a claimed weight of just 1,285 grams with its 35 mm rim choice.
Both wheels make use of Campagnolo’s G3 paired spoke lacing front and rear. Bora Ultra WTO gets carbon hub shells and the CULT ceramic bearings, while Bora WTO gets an alloy hub shell and more traditional ceramic bearings.
While Campagnolo has not confirmed that these matte black wheel options will be available in multiple rim depths, we expect there to be a 35 mm, 45 mm, and 60 mm rim depth options that are available in the current lineup.
Regardless of whether or not you choose a Super Record S groupset on your bike, we expect these new matte black wheels to itself on a number of custom bikes soon enough.

As mentioned, we’re awaiting a number of details from Campagnolo. Below is groupset pricing as well as wheelset options.
Pricing is something we do have access to; at $4,299/€3,990, Super Record S Wireless is quite a bit less than the $5399 for Super Record Wireless. Even still, this groupset pricing is on roughly par with SRAM Red AXS and Shimano Dura-Ace Di2.
None of this is new, as Campagnolo has always had pricing a bit higher than its competition. More than likely, Campagnolo views this groupset as competition for Red and Dura-Ace, while the pricier Super Record stands above the rest.
