Price is high but best quality
It’s whey protein *concentrate* AND isolate combined. This is better, imo, than isolate which tends to have too much sweetness to it and is more clumpy and harder to blend… I mostly don’t like sucralose but allow it in this product only bc it’s so good. I always get the vanilla.. Mix with orange juice.. It’s like an orange Julius.. Perfect for adding a little flax seed to it.. Delicious. It’s my fave. I’ve ordered it repeatedly. It’s honestly the highest quality protein powder available on Amazon. Better than gold standard which I know is wildly popular. I just don’t like it. This is good *because* it uses both concentrate and isolate which I suspect contributes also to the higher price along with “whey flation”… Check the ingredients. You want concentrate if you know what flavor you’re looking for. Not isolate.

A little on the sweet side for a vanilla
This protein powder mixes fairly well in a shaker bottle. I have had a few clumps left over an a few occasions, but overall it mixes well. I had to try this brand because I was looking for a good go-to vanilla protein and this got great reviews. An important aspect of a protein powder for me is taste. I was looking for a fairly neutral vanilla flavor because I’m not the type to crave something sweet after a workout. Muscle Pharm’s Vanilla flavor gets 4/5 stars. It’s fairly sweet, a little sweeter than I’d like for a vanilla flavor despite only having 1 gram of sugar per serving. The flavor is easy to adjust by adding different amounts of water however. You can stick with the recommended amount of water or water it down to take some of the sweetness away. This is leaning a little more toward a vanilla ice cream flavor and I think a vanilla should be fairly neutral, especially if you wanted to mix it in with a smoothie.If you like your vanilla flavor on the sweeter side, this is a great protein to try. And at 25 grams of protein per scoop, taking this after a workout will leave you satisfied. This was a great deal for a five pound tub.

I have used MusclePharm products for many many years, and this one is really really good. It’s very hard to find quality protein right now that’s not some mystery powder like baking soda or ground up chalk or something. But this one is excellent excellent excellent! The chocolate version is very very chocolatey! And not that fake terrible chocolate taste, either. It’s a real Bonafide chocolate taste that’s wonderful. Yes the price ishigh, but it’s very worth it

Great Taste
I have been taking Combat for years now and I think it’s the best protein that I have tried for the price. This stuff is always on sale and it sits well with my stomach. You can mix it with water or milk and it tastes great either way.

Shockingly sweet
Good value at ~2.5 cents per gram of protein. Scoop size is about 1/3 to 1/2 cup. Mixes well shaking or blending, though it does get very frothy, but it will never ever mix properly if you try stirring or dissolving with boiling liquid. Mixing with milk or yogurt is possible but substantially more difficult than with water. The warning on the bottle to frequently mix the powder is no joke, either – it settles and separates in the tub.The big gripe is the taste. The chocolate flavor is actually chocolate MILK flavor. Did you ever have chocolate “drink” as a kid? That’s what this tastes like. Much sweeter than expected, and the clacky artificial sweetener aftertaste is very strong, because there are a lot of them in the ingredients. Very reminiscent of cheap hot cocoa powder, and that’s the most palatable way to drink it (12oz milk plus a tbsp of cocoa powder, mix in the scoop before heating). Also good for baking with if you’re making bars or granola, though it burns very quickly and you have to cut other sweeteners out of the recipe.Overall decent, but I won’t buy it again. Pay up a bit for something with a better taste and less artificial ingedients.
