Really great way to get protein, inexpensively
I really like the product. I put in with my White tea and apple cyder vinigar every morning. It doesn’t taste chalky, mixes easily and helps me get the protein I need, without adding a lot of callories.God BlessMarshall

    Great taste but better price
Smells and tastes good, seems to seal well since it lasted me 7 months and never clumped. When I bought, was 2x cheaper than anything sold at my local supermarket. And macros and taste were way better than anticipated at such an affordable rate.Great protein for ppl budgeting, gets the job done and goes great with smoothies or homemade protein bars. My personal go to was a scoop in my morning oatmeal!Love yah Nutricost

Kind of sandy but tastes amazing
You definitely need to blend this with yogurt or bananas if you want a thick shake. But it tastes delicious and this is a big, big tub that will last a really long time. Good price for the size.

Protein is and price are good, taste is decent.
I’ve been using protein powders for about 20 years, and I’ve tried many brands in my time. I usually use vanilla flavored protein, as that flavor tends to compliment just about every other type of flavor one would mix it with. Since a lot of my regular protein brands have jumped up in price severely, I figured I’d give this one a shot and see how it was. When it comes to taste, this brand’s vanilla flavor has a distinct buttery overtone that can be hit or miss, depending on how one is planning to use it. For baking (Yes, try baking with whey powder to boost up the protein content of muffins or whatever), this might be a real win! Most vanilla flavored protein won’t add much sweetness to things, but it will contribute to the overall result in terms of flavor (for better or worse). For my preferences, the flavor detracts from how I use it. I’m prefer a much more straightforward vanilla flavor, and the buttery flavors just throw me off. You might personally like that, and if so, then this is the protein for you! Another small gripe is that when I mix this with my shaker in my post-workout concoction, it tends to foam up A LOT. I attribute this to the fact that all the protein in this is whey CONCENTRATE, and not a mix of isolate AND concentrate, which is what I’m used to. No matter what, protein is protein, and whether it’s concentrate or isolate, the protein amount and quality is the same in the end. The difference is that isolate is approximately (by volume) 90% protein and concentrate is approximately 79% protein, which means that there’s a bit more of the other components of the milk that the whey originally came from that are present. A bit more fat, sodium, and cholesterol will be in it, but a far smaller amount than whole milk, of course. All this to say that when I mix my shake, I have to let it sit on the counter undisturbed for over 10 minutes just to get the foam to decrease and become somewhat drinkable. It still has a lot of foam after that, but at least it’s not an overwhelming amount at that point. In conclusion, I think this protein is a price conscious smart buy, assuming the cost (about $56 a lbs at the time of writing this) stays relatively the same. I like the consistency of the dry powder, as it’s a satisfying granular texture vs the flour-like texture I’m used to with the isolate dominant varieties I normally consume. The buttery taste is ok, but the foaming really gets to me. It’s such an annoyance that I’ll probably keep searching for a similarly priced product that won’t foam as much after mixing. If you’re OK with a little extra foam and a buttery vanilla flavor, then this is right for you.

    Tastes good and mixes easily
Tastes surprisingly well and mixes very well which makes it easy to chug down and get it over with. Some protein tastes so bad that if I have it everyday, I feel like I’m going to have an aneurysm. But this is different 🔥

Nutricost Protein Powder is the Best Whey on the Market
A few weeks ago, I went to buy another jug and saw that they were going for $80. That’s obscene! I made the decision that I needed to find a more affordable protein powder. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably found yourself here because you’re thinking the same thing. Well, let me put your mind at rest by saying that Nutricost Whey Protein Concentrate is your optimum replacement.Nutricost Whey Protein Concentrate packs 25 grams of protein, with only 3 grams of fat, and 3 grams of carbohydrates. It has a slightly higher fat content, but an additional 1.5 grams per serving is hardly something to worry about. It also boasts 6 simple ingredients, which was a must for me. There wasn’t a long list of chemicals and additives, and it contained no soy; which was something I had been looking to get away from.Nutricost Whey Protein Concentrate is also gluten-free, a non-GMO product, third party tested, and GMP compliant. Meaning, that it’s not some “fly by night” brand that’s just trying to make money off of you.I know you’re thinking, “That’s great, but how does it taste?”Let me tell you, it tastes great! I usually add mine to my oatmeal in the morning, but I’ve tried it with milk and water. All three went down smoothly and made the consumption enjoyable. Most importantly, a 5lb. jug only cost $51.26; $18.48 less than Optimum Nutrition and considerably less than other brands. I’ve seen 2lb. jugs cost that much!If your goal is to supplement your protein intake with a powder that tastes great, isn’t stacked with a bunch of chemicals and additives you don’t need, and at an affordable price, I believe this is the best protein powder you can get.Don’t just take my word for it, though. Try it out for yourself. I think you’ll be glad that you did.

    2 orders, 2 different experiences
I was pretty happy with the 1st batch: Tasted good, mixed up fairly well. But the second batch I ordered mixes up entirely differently. I blend it with milk and it is just so dang clumpy. Because of that, I don’t see myself buying this again.

  8. AP

    Taste like a shake
Mixes well, no clumping.Adds a smooth, rich very vanilla flavor and consistency to shakes. It has enough protein for a meal replacement. It has a very vanilla scent, it smells good. No problem on the stomach.
