The tastiest protein supplement, in my opinion.
This is absolutely my favorite protein powder in the world. I’ve been using ON’s Gold Standard Whey for a couple years now, and the difference between having it and not having it is astounding. I train in a fasted state, and take this almost immediately after my workout.Pros: It tastes amazing. It’s protein. IT TASTES LIKE REESE’S PEANUT BUTTER CUPS (at least, when you haven’t had them in a long time and you want it badly). Mixes great in milk, water, protein, makes great protein crepes, awesome protein oatmeal.Cons: The only real con with this stuff, in my opinion, is that, when mixed with water, it only tastes okay. Like any protein powder, it tastes better with milk. I don’t like that they don’t sell it in the 2lb canisters, but when you taste it, you might understand why…I highly recommend this stuff. It’s Optimum Nutrition, it’s a great brand. This is my favorite flavor (possibly tied with the Chocolate Mint). It’s a great supplement, high quality, fast-absorbing protein that really helps.

Great taste
Ok. I don’t rate things. However…I usually do chocolate whey. It seems to be the easiest flavor to make ok. The other flavors never quite taste good, just different. This is the exception. I take 1 scoop with 8 oz of cold water blended in a blender, and this was good, really good. So good that I wondered about how much splenda (sucralose) they use. It was sweet and really did have a ring of peanut butter. Now, I don’t eat much candy, and haven’t in weeks, so my sweet tooth is a little more sensitive. If you eat actual desserts regularly, I’m sure it won’t seem as good. If you have been eating mostly meat, veggies, eggs, with a little fruit and drinking lots of water, this who taste like a treat. If you haven’t been, then I would work in that before drinking protein shakes.

Delicious
So a lot of people are making criticisms on the taste changing, reformulation putting in ‘fillers’ like salt, sucralose or cellulose gum and from their comments it is obvious they aren’t in food science nor do they understand the function these ingredients play. To start, salt is used to prevent microbial growth in this case. By adding this you can help reduce moisture content and extend shelf life as such. Sucralose is a zero calorie sweetener which gives you sweetness without the added carbs. This is HUGE for the target audience of ON Gold Standard who watches their macros and takes it for the protein content not the flavor and energy content. The last is a gum which is used as a thickener and binder so when you drink it you don’t have chunks of protein on the bottom after drinking off tasting water. This will help the powder absorb better and stay in a suspension. If you want a product that has a good bang for your buck and is tried and true use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard. If you are looking for the best tasting protein shake maybe you need something with extra carbs and fats or want to mix it with milk, in that case there are other options which are more expensive or have less pure of a protein profile. Now on to the review. I have over years tried many of the flavors.Chocolate Peanut Butter – This was my favorite for a long time, can use it in smoothies, shakes, on its own with water milk or coffee and still tasted good. 5/5Double Rich Chocolate – this is my workhorse, can have it with anything, solid chocolate flavor the most basic protein flavor but tastes good with real cocoa flavor. 5/5Extreme Milk Chocolate – This one is great, tastes like quik chocolate milk even with water. Can mix with anything even toilet water and will taste good. Got sick of it before I finished the 5 lbs. 4/5Mocha Cappucino – This one is really good with water, milk or coffee, you can have it almost all of the time but I get sick of the cappucino taste after a while of having the same thing 4/5French Vanilla Creme – took a while to get used to but is endlessly versatile now that I’m on it 4/5Cookies and Cream – Had a little artificial cream flavor but once you get over that its okay. Drink with water or milk for better taste. 3/5Delicious Strawberry – Tasted like artificial strawberry water ‘thing’ with milk it was better but nothing special. 3/5Chocolate Mint – Not great in water, was okay with milk or in shakes 2/5Chocolate Malt – I don’t like malt, I don’t know why I bought this. 2/5Vanilla Ice Cream – Does not taste like Ice cream, would not recommend. 2/5White Chocolate -tastes artificial 2/5Natural Chocolate – No. 1/5I will give reviews on each flavor and update as I continue tasting them, since I buy in 5 lbs I typically get a new about monthly. Feel free to send me some free ones ON

definitely worth the buy
iâve been training for a long time and iâve tried many different protien powders in that time. optimum nutrition Is and has been a top brand for a while but this is the first time I actually purchased theyâre gold standard and I must say I do enjoy it. I have the chocolate peanut butter and it tastes great and mixes so easily wich is the best part imo. I hate chunky/ gritty shakes it makes me not want to drink them. so with it tasting great and being easy to mix and easily digestible I feel like itâs definitely deserving of its name as a gold standard. will continue to use this through my current competition prep. my only ânegativeâ about it is the 2g of fat per serving and the 4g of carbs. not that those are bad macros but I would love it to be 0 fat and lower carb. awsome product non the less. 5 stars.

Tastes good, and blends super easily
First time trying the peanut butter flavor and I am pleased to say that I liked it a lot. It tastes very good and you can combo it with fruit smoothies. A big thing that many protein powders fail to do with their product is make sure it blends easily in a shaker bottle. I hate having those little powder clumps when I’m drinking a protein shake. They get all stuck on your teeth and its terrible. Luckily, this stuff dissolved very well. I use just a regular blender bottle with a shaker ball inside and there were no clumps in the drink. Would recommend you guys try and find the least amount of water needed to dissolve it all in order to get the best taste.

Chocolate Pb…well almost.
This flavor was okay. It’s not a very strong pb. It honestly taste more like plain chocolate. It’s not bad tasting, but I just wish it had more pb taste to it. Mixed well in water and almond milk. Probably won’t order this flavor again. If you enjoy chocolate, I would recommend it.
