USA Cycling has announced its roster for the third annual UCI Gravel World Championships in Halle-Leuven, Belgium on October 5-6, 2024.
17 athletes will compete in the elite world championship race, with the men’s and women’s teams headlined by 2024 elite gravel national champions Brennan Wertz (Mill Valley, Calif.; Mosaic Cycles) and Lauren Stephens (Dallas; Cynisca Cycling).

The other riders on Team USA’s elite squads qualified by finishing in the top 25 percent of their category at a UCI Gravel World Series event or were selected through USAC’s ‘wild card’ process. The latter included the top five finishers in the elite race at last month’s USAC Gravel National Championship in Gering, Nebraska.
The 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships will unfold on unpaved roads in the storied cycling region of Flanders, Belgium. Elite women will race a 134-kilometer course on Saturday, October 5, while men race 181 kilometers on Sunday.
Men’s defending champion Matej Mohorič will return to vie for the rainbow stripes, while women’s champ Kasia Niewiadoma will not race this year.
